It was not until 1979 that Singapore Government appreciated the strategic importance of R&D and embraced it as a potent economic turbine. As Singapore is still newly industrializing, the government will continue to be at the heels of technology. Therefore, making Singapore a good context for our research, which explains R&D as the subject-matter.
