Summary: | Attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders in children, characterized by significant difficulties of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsiveness. About 3 to 5 percent of children suffer from ADHD worldwide. Along with medication, neurofeedback has also been proven to be an effective treatment of ADHD. This final year project aims to develop a Human-Computer Interface based game that helps to improve the concentration in children with ADHD using bio-electric signals i.e. Electrooculography (EOG) and Electroencephalography (EEG). These signals are converted into command signals in real time to control the game. The game is designed such that it can improve the sustained and selective attention of players, by maintaining control over EEG signals. The proposed algorithm successfully transforms EEG and EOG signals into control signals of the game and offers an accuracy of around 90% in detecting the attention of two healthy players. |
