Summary: | This report provides an insight to the game design and learning progress of a free floating experiential game named Traverse. Being an immersive game, the unique game design and mechanic were specifically designed to achieve this objective.
The heads up display (HUD) was implemented on the character model in order to achieve an immersive environment where the HUD is not prominent in the game. The punishment of restarting was removed through the implementation of a ‘no death’ state. The game design and mechanic were intentionally designed to ensemble the mood and accelerate enjoyment of the game. Game designs were improved over the progression of the project through testing and collecting surveys until the goal of this project is finally achieved. |
