Sex addiction is argued to be the most suitable label for this disorder as it best encompasses all aspects of the disorder, and various perspectives (cognitive-behavioural, psycho-biological, psychosocial and developmental) are introduced to better understand the possible causes of sex addiction. Lastly, the Integrated Theory of Sexual Offending (ITSO) is discussed to highlight limitations of current singular-perspective studies, as well as its implication on the development of treatment for sexual addiction.
