Summary: | This final year project was to design and develop a Quasi Yagi Bow Tie Antenna, operating at a frequency of 10MHz to 30 MHz, placed one metre above the rooftop of a building. This was essentially a 2-year industrial project. Hence, it was a challenging project from start as it was practically not possible to complete the entire project within the one year final year project timeline.
The Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) version 13.0 was chosen to be the design and simulation software used in this project. Antenna designs were constructed and simulations were performed to verify the results.
In view of the above time limitation and the complexity of the project, hardware fabrication could not be performed due to the extensive simulations that were necessary to study and analysis the effects, propose counter measures to overcome the ground effects challenges.
Even though there was no hardware fabrication, there will not be any impact on the results as the hardware testing phase is to validate the results simulated via the software. |
