Description
Summary:As technology advances, the rise in electronic products such as mobile phone, tablets and other handheld devices has caused an increase in the demand for liquid crystal displays. Such devices are becoming relatively smaller size but the requirement for the display drivers to drive the smaller area display has increase and it is vital for it to work in a low power environment, along with some sense of scalability in the design. This report will first look at the suitable logic styles in implementing the design of the modules in the display driver architecture. With the logic styles selected, gates and circuitries can be built. Comparisons on the power dissipation and propagation delay as different approach is taken, such as using different transistor W/L ratios, powering the circuit with low and even lower voltage supply as well as reducing the transistor counts from different designs. After which the design for the modules can be implemented based on the comparisons taken. However it is unlikely to challenge the different types of display drivers in the market today but some thoughts has been to enhance a bit part of it for future fabrications.
