Description
Summary:Thermal conductivity of the polymer heat sink can be further enhanced by having an optimal blend between Carbon Nanotubes and silicone elastomer. In this research, the functionalization technique is exploited with the purpose of achieving better solubilization and dispersion within the nanocomposite. By studying the stearic hindrance of the material through Molecular Dynamics, the bonding natures of each material were played towards their advantages to create an optimal blend. Characterization and evaluation tests were performed to compare the new functionalization method. The results provided a positive indication, where the characterization showed a dendrite formation, allowing carbon nanotubes to be dispersed throughout the polymer matrix. The solubilization has improved tremendously as compared to the previous functionalization method.
