Description
Summary:From simple safety pins to satellite, there is a touch of manufacturing on every object in this World. Technological advancements in the last century have led to mass production, mass customization, high quality and cost reduction in manufacturing. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining is playing a vital role in this and has become an inherent part of manufacturing. Production disruptions due to tool breakage and low quality parts due to tool wear lead to lost time and money, which is unacceptable in this competitive world. The main reason for tool breakage is excessive force acting on the tool during machining. By monitoring the tool force and having a control mechanism will help avoiding tool breakage.
