For over 25 years, personal assistant robots for severely disabled individuals have been in development. In this report, design and development of a robot for neurorehabilitation is described. We have designed the robot from scratch cost-effectively and safely, which is capable of moving an upper limb in simple predetermined trajectories by directly controlling the position of the patient's hand. Consequently, the robot can produce repeatable movement patterns in the paretic (relating to or suffering from slight or incomplete paralysis) arm of the patients.
