Description
Summary:To study dynamic profile change of liquid film is essential to understand the fundamental mechanics of thin fluid layers. It has drawn tremendous attentions due to its importance in many fields, such as biological, pharmaceutical and industrial applications. Using moiré pattern to analyze the profile change of thin liquid film becomes popular due to its high sensitivity, resolution and flexible measuring range. In this report, a novel high-resolution refracted moiré topography method has been developed to mimic the dynamic profile change of liquid film stretched by a glass substrate. The dynamic changes of the liquid film surface slope, height, thickness and contact angle with glass substrate have been demonstrated by theoretical study and supported by experimental results. Through the theoretical model derived, the profile change of liquid film can be monitored and calculated by using deformed moiré fringes with high precision. Moreover, the report demonstrated the possibility of using this technique in controlling growth of colloidal crystal monolayer and studying the Plateau-Rayleigh behavior of liquid.
