Description
Summary:Solar energy technologies, which absorb the Sun’s energy to generate electrical power, are one of the fastest growing and most commonly used renewable energy in the market today. The main reason for implementing renewable energy is due to the fact that our sources of fossil fuel will be eventually depleted, at certain point we have to be ready for such an event and be equipped with a system of energy production capable of supporting and sustaining our world. Thus it is important to ensure that the Photovoltaic (PV) devices are working at its highest efficiency in supplying electrical power. In this Thesis, the student will design a Digital Multi-meter that will measure the open circuit voltage (Voc), short circuit current (Isc), max power voltage (Vmax), max power current (Imax), fill factor and efficiency of a photovoltaic cell. Lastly, the report will provide the results obtained from actual measurement from a PV cell and the waveform of Current VS Voltage and Power VS Voltage. Analysis of the measurement and future recommendations will be discussed.
