Study of plasmonic non-diffracting beams

The study of non-diffracting plasmonic beams has been a much sought after research topic. Of particular interest is the Airy wave packet, since they were observed in experiments in free space in recent years. This interest is due to possible applications in a number of fields like material processing and optical micromanipulation. As these Airy wave packets have been a fairly recent observation, quite a few unique properties of these waves still require further study.
This paper focuses specifically on the finite energy Airy surface plasmonic beam, investigating in-depth the theory involved, the mathematical basis of this beam, and develops in detail with the aid of simulations all the distinct properties when finite energy Airy surface plasmons are concerned. An analysis and comparison is presented between the theory and the simulations. The results and simulations calculated and observed are in excellent agreement.
This paper therefore gives a complete investigation of Airy surface plasmons and provides a basis to test Airy surface plasmons which have been produced by various methods. |
