Description
Summary:A consequence of a rapidly changing business environment requires organizations to deliver products with improved performance, reduced cost, high quality and shorter time-to-market to customers. As such, the competitive paradigm has shifted from designer-driven to customer-oriented perspective. To embody the philosophy of customer involvement in product concept development (PCD), this work aims at realizing a customer-oriented product conceptualization system (COPCS). The system is used as a novel tool to handle PCD through the integration of design metrics, knowledge discovery, and technological applications.
