This project aims to develop the dual sharing energy system in escalators by doing software simulation. DAB has been successfully evaluated and implemented in sharing energy system via DC/DC converter. Various topology of DAB DC/DC converter have been studied and the best topology was chosen is [2]. It is controlled by dual phase shift controller. The result of DAB simulation is also presented in this project. The system was simulated in Simulink, Matlab R2103a. The result of each simulation is presented in the form of graph. The running time for simulation is limited up to 1 second due to hardware limitation. The simulation on Matlab aims to understand behavior of the system before realize it into real circuits. The parameters are chosen by calculating and adjust according to desired output. The simulated systems in this project are AC source to drive the induction motor with DC voltage in between, Dual Active Bridge DC/DC converter, and Energy Storage System (charging and discharging). Energy Storage System (the proposed system by author to improve the efficiency) employs DAB with ratio transformer is 1:2.5. The efficiency of the performance of each system is calculated in Chapter 4. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is generated by using XMC4500 microcontroller is also presented in this report. The signal is verified using oscilloscope. This result aims to be implemented for future application in real circuits. This final year project is one of the requirements to obtain the degree, bachelor engineering.
