The web languages used comprise of client-side languages, including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, as well as server-side language, which is PHP. Meanwhile, MATLAB codes are executed at the server for image rendering process. With increasing accessibility through the internet, many system applications have transformed their programmes into web-based application. Some of the examples will be shown in this report on existing “photoshops” or image processing web applications. The web application built is based on study of image rendering by layers technique, notably aesthetic algorithms for acquired and generated digital image by Xiaoyan Zhang. This algorithm is written in MATLAB scripting language and it can be utilised to process the image uploaded into the web application. Furthermore, this project is a continuation of the web application built in providing the platform for image rendering algorithm to process image layers by layers. Thus, this project first investigates capability of each web language and rendering algorithm, as well as the logic and scripts in place, henceforth enhances the functionality of the application. Next, the flow of project will be shown, which includes web application structure and layouts, and the implementation of the web design. Then, the functionality and testing phase of the project will be documented. Subsequently, through testing on the HTML5 canvas (part of HTML implementation) capability, many functions were included to improve on interactivity of the application. The relevant functions were included in this report for reference on the full design.
