苏伟贞《沉默之岛》的身体书写与现代性 = On embodied modernities in Su Wei-Chen’s island of silence

本论文以苏伟贞的小说《沉默之岛》（1994）为分析对象，探讨此文本的身体书写与现代性。目前为止，有关此文本“身体”书写的研究主要偏向“女性意识”与“家国认同”的探讨。对于文本里的男性角色、两组晨勉的“双身”抽象性仍有许多空间可更细致地讨论。因此，结合文本细读、资料整理以及作者的采访资料，本论文除了探讨身体的现代性，更将以上因素融入与讨论，以补充目前的学术论述。第二章先通过“身体”、“性欲”与都市印象的探讨，分析两组女主角与男性的“情欲”书写，从而发现其中的现代主义之体现，以及对都市人的批判。第三章，试以新的角度分析此文本：通过“存在主义”哲学思想，探讨文本抽象的“存在”与“死亡”观、女主角的“双身”生命实验以及其走向，包括其中的现代主义人文关怀。最后，第四章将从隐含读者的角度，结合其眷村成长背景，分析“父亲”的象征性与“寻父”的情节。This thesis is an analysis on Su Wei-Chen’s novel Island of Silence (1994), with regards to the theme of embodied modernities. In the second chapter, with focus on the writings of body (or embodiment), libido and urban impressions, a discussion on the homogenization of human is made. This is followed by Chapter three, an attempt of a new perspective in analyzing the novel Island of Silence, an analysis on the abstract ideas of “being” and “death” in the text, using the philosophy of Existentialism, which leads to a possible explanation of the ending of the novel. Also, with reference to the author’s identity and memories as a writer of the Military Community, chapter four analyses on the modernity of the writings and symbolism of the “father” character in the novel.
