新加坡华语剧场自1992年开始便涌入一批具有明显性再现的剧作。对于一个常在论述中被称之为具有 “亚洲价值观” 的国家而言，这批剧作的出现似乎颠覆以往新加坡对性采取的保守态度。新加坡华语剧场的性再现打开性话语以往拴上的大门。性行为经常被理所当然地想象成私隐的举动，但事实上它一点隐私也没有。由于性直接影响国家的人口增减和道德规范，因此它是经常受到政治干预的场域。通过女性、同志、爱滋病、跨性别等边缘族群的性再现，新加坡华语剧场中迫使人们对性进行反思，解构主导新加坡社会的异性恋霸权。本文将从文学与文化批评理论和性别理论出发，对照新加坡社会目前的情况，之后再以文本细读方式引出新加坡华语剧场性再现所隐喻的身体政治。 Representations of sex began to surface in the Singapore Chinese theatre since 1992. The advent of such a theme seems to be particularly subversive for a conservative Asian society like Singapore, which places great restrictions on sexual discourse. Sex is commonly regarded as a private affair, but the truth is there is nothing more public than sex. State authorities often intervene in the sex act as it contributes directly to the nation's population and moral code. Representations of sex in Singapore Chinese theatre hence offer interstitial moments that exposes the heteronormative construct prevalent in Singaporean society. Through a synthesized reading of relevant critical theories, gender theories and Singaporean current affairs, this essay aims to reveal the body politics in Singapore Mandarin theatre’s representations of sex.
