In this research, I argue that people are using food blogging as an extension of commensality. Whereas commensality has been traditionally understood to occur only in close proximity, food blogging allows commensality to transcend this limitation. Furthermore, I contend that people use food blogging as an avenue to give others the perception that they are of a higher social class.
