Chan Siew Ee Deanna, Kwai Pun John Peter Henvan Him Lin, Chan Tan Hua Vijay Sethi Nanyang Business School DRNTU::Business 147 p. The objective of this project was to disseminate information technology related news that were indigenous to Singapore to the public via the electronic media and to find out if this service would be beneficial to the targeted audience. Therefore, SITcom was produced as a weekly publication which contained summaries of information technology news. Sources that were used included the Singapore English daily - The Straits Times, IT Singapore, PCWeek Asia and others. In addition to sending the newsletters, survey questionnaires were attached at the end of each newsletter. The purpose of the preliminary and final surveys was to gather feedback as to the newsletter, how it could be improved to suit the varied tastes of the readers and the performance of the newsletter among others. After compiling the results of both surveys, a few conclusions were reached. A service such as SITcom was indeed useful to the public but additional improvements had to be made. A Website would need to be established for easier access and also to reach a wider audience. In addition to that, a liaison with a major computer periodical could prove to be beneficial. The computer periodical could provide the production team with news articles and information while the SITcom newsletter could serve as a form of advertisement for the computer periodical. In conclusion, a service such as that provided by SITcom would have a market here in Singapore as there is an absence of such a service at the moment and it is therefore recommended that such a service be allowed to continue.
