Description
Summary:The construction of an Oilrig involves various highly complex concurrent activities and it takes about twenty-two months to completely build a reliable offshore structure for oil drilling use. This dissertation presents an investigation of oilrig building engineering and construction sequence improvement using Design Structure Matrix (DSM) Analysis. It presents the DSM as a project management tool, which provides a project representation that allows for feedback and cyclic task dependencies. This DSM project representation review results in the identification and improvement of engineering and production parameters and further contributes to the enhancement of the overall Project performance. A brief introduction is presented along with typical engineering and production operations to completely build an oil rig.
