Summary: | Electronic Medical Records has become an essential part of healthcare in Singapore. The development of technology has led the change from traditional handwritten medical records to Electronic Medical Records. The change has brought convenience to healthcare professionals by improving efficiency and quality of healthcare.
However, terminologies used by healthcare professionals in the Electronic Medicals Records may not be identical to the terminologies used by pharmaceutical companies. Terminologies used by Singapore hospitals are to a certain extent different from those of other English-speaking countries.
In this paper, an in-depth analysis will be done in order to develop a system that is able to recognise the terms and terminologies used in the Electronic Medical Records. |
