Description
Summary:Online Inventory Management System is not a recent development. However, it is still not very widely used and implemented, especially in small scale buisnesses. The main reasons would be the resistance to change and the Iack of technical knowledge. Through careful research, it can be seen that large supermarkets are already adopting an online approach to sales to capture the online market and that there are clear benefits to the implementation of an online web store. In this project, grocery stores are selected as the subject as there is a market for this system to be implemented, and in addition to having a web store, the store can also double up as an inventory management system. In general, a web-based online grocery management system has been developed which is user friendly and easy to implement in any grocery store. However, there can be room for improvement which can further enhance the capabilities of the system, such as the implementation of tagging systems to locate products, barcode scanning to integrate cashiering, and where possible should be undertaken to continue develop and improve the system.
