Currently, aside from the devices that are available from biotech companies, a more widely practised method of anastomosis would be by conventional suturing where by the connection is held strongly by stitches. In this project, three design concepts are first explored followed by evaluation and selection of the best design before moving on from the conceptual design to embodiment stage and finally to the final design. Furthermore, material selection and possible manufacturing techniques to produce such a prototype will also be discussed.
