Most third party logistics providers make various decisions based on their intuitions, and experiences without a structured methodology to analyze and optimize their supply chain performance. Efforts have been made in this project to view supply chain management as a science rather than an art. The group was tasked to develop a generic logistics network configuration template that serves as a basic supply chain analysis tool. Four major problems were identified by the project company as the most vital areas of interest, namely, warehouse location selection, suppliers' selection, warehouse capacity planning, and vehicle routing planning, which are of different levels of decision making.
