Description
Summary:This project studied the behaviour of motorists during rate changeover at gantries within the Restricted Zone (RZ) in the city. Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) in Singapore employs a shoulder charging method that involves half hourly rate changes before and after the peak period. In 2003, the concept of Gradual Electronic Pricing (GEP) was introduced in the hope of discouraging drivers from engaging in dangerous driving behaviour, such as speeding up or slowing down when approaching the gantries. However, the effect of such an initiative was never evaluated or reviewed.
