Summary:Holter monitor also known as ambulatory electrocardiography device is a medical tool commonly use by cardiologist around the world to conduct 24- 48 hours constant monitoring of electrocardiogram (ECG) signal for heart disease patient. Multiple electrodes will be connected to the patient chest using adhesive and then link to the monitor for recording purpose. Through the device, doctor will be able to diagnose any possible heart symptom and be alert first hand on their communication devices should there be any emergency case. This report is divided into 3 segment defining the research and development of a low power holter monitor to work with Android devices for arrhythmias detection. The first segment of the report encompass the literature review and research about various types of arrhythmias in the world and also provide an in depth understanding into cardiac electrical activity in human system. The second segment of the report state the methodology of the hardware design including the usage of low power component and selection of cable connection to reduce noise interference within the hardware. This segment also includes the process development for android application to synchronize with the hardware devices using commercially available Bluetooth modules for viewing and analysis of ECG signal on android smart devices. Lastly, the last segment of the report concludes the report and presents a series of future recommendation to improvise the project usability in the health and medical industry.
