The use of compact acoustic vector sensors presents an elegant solution to this problem. This dissertation looks at noise reduction algorithms for a single AVS using quaternions to represent the four-channel AVS output as a single vector. The frequency domain Wiener filter is discussed and is extended for use in AVS. The perfor-mance of the algorithms are discussed and analysed using various quantifying parameters. All simulations have been done using MATLAB.
