典雅与通俗之间 :论黄霑歌词中的古典情怀和本土意识 = The fine line between elegance and popularity : classical affection and native consciousness in the lyrical works of Wong Jim

黄霑被誉为香港四大才子之一,他的创作广为流传,《沧海一声笑》、《黄飞鸿》、《倩女幽魂》等等都是脍炙人口的佳作。学者们对于黄霑的研究主要集中在对其个别经典歌词的分析,并没有将其毕生的创作进行系统的划分与归纳。不仅如此,学者们往往侧重于黄霑词作在影视作品中的地位,却忽视了他作品中的古典文学情怀和香港本土意识,即便有所提及,也是以偏概全,缺乏统一连贯性。本文将黄霑歌词分类为四大母题,针对不同的母题,选取具有象征性的个案进行分析说明。接着,以“侠义”作为出发点,将擅长为武侠影视剧谱曲的黄霑和善于写“侠客诗”的李白作对比,将“诗以明志,词以抒情”作为主要论点,比较二者在在同一题材下的创作异同。最后从内容...

His widely circulated classics includes “A laugh in blue sea”,” Wong Fei-hung” and” A Chinese Ghost Story” etc. Many scholars often focus their studies on lyrics of individual classics but do not systematically differentiate nor categorize his lifetime works. In addition, many scholars today often concentrate on the prestigious status of the lyrics in his filmography but neglect the classical literature embedded in his works. Even when the literature was mentioned, many scholars lack comprehensiveness and unified coherence by making sweeping statements. This thesis categorizes Wong Jim’s lyrical works into four main motifs and performs an analysis for each individual motif upon selection of a symbolic case. Using “Chivalry” as a starting point, a comparison is done between Wong Jim, an expert in composing music for martial arts filmography, and Li Po, who is adept at composing heroic poems. The similarities and differences of their creations are compared under the same theme by making “poems portraying ideals while lyrics express feelings” the main argument. Lastly, we analyse Wong Jim’s lyrical works based on content selection, language features and national identity to explore the native consciousness of Hong Kong.
