Description
Summary:This study seeks to examine the factors that influence the development of management control systems in a multinational company subsidiary. More specifically, the study is interested in determining the influence that the parent company, either directly or indirectly, has on the subsidiary's management control systems. This is achieved, first by developing a framework based on a literature review, in which the potential influencing factors are identified. Secondly, a case study is conducted on a Singapore subsidiary of a very successful multinational corporation in the electrical and electronic industry. The actual influences on this subsidiary are then identified and compared with the influencing factors.
