Summary: | Traditional main grid consists of a complex fabric of generation plants, substations, transformers and transmission lines that supply electricity to city, businesses and industry. In addition to primary main grid, there exists smaller independent power grid called microgrids or remote grids. Compared to traditional main grid, Microgrids are like a mini utility that comprises a number of electric power generators operating together to meet the power consumption in a local area or a small community, isolated safely from the main grid during any case of outage. The aim of this project is to simulate a model of distributed generator, integrated together with Photovoltaic system and energy storage device into the microgrid structure. |
