In addition to primary main grid, there exists smaller independent power grid called microgrids or remote grids. Compared to traditional main grid, Microgrids are like a mini utility that comprises a number of electric power generators operating together to meet the power consumption in a local area or a small community, isolated safely from the main grid during any case of outage. The aim of this project is to simulate a model of distributed generator, integrated together with Photovoltaic system and energy storage device into the microgrid structure.
