Summary: | In this project, real-time simulation is implemented on the model of the ship power
system. The complete model of the ship power system is built with Matlab/Simulink,
and then simulated on the Opal-RT platform for the purpose of real time simulation.
The power system model consists of generators, power distribution lines,
transformers, power electronics converters and loads on both AC and DC buses.
In the real time simulation, a small step size is required to guarantee the accuracy,
while a reasonable large step size is needed to have a fast ca lculation speed. This
paradox is so lved in this project by separating the power system into several
subsystems which are executed on different target platform node.
A key feature of this simulation is that it can execute at the same rate as actual "wall
clock" time results of the simulation are presented. This real time simulation can be
used for further hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation or fast prototype
development. Key words: marine power system; real time simulation; Opal-RT |
