With hopes to enhance the standards and develop the future local translation market, the government has launched a number of policies in the recent years. However, in order to do that, it is a requisite to first understand the current state of the local market. What is the current state of the market? What are some of the potential problems the current market is facing? What kinds of solutions or policies can be implemented to solve these problems? A case study on a relevant enterprise in the concurrent market is one of the many ways that can help us understand the current situation. As such, this paper will attempt to examine one such enterprise, Lingua Technologies International, as a case study, in order to understand the translation market in Singapore. By understanding how this enterprise operates, it is then possible to understand the local translation scene, identify current problems in today’s market, and from which, seek solutions to solve and prepare for future developments.
