Attracting immigrants into Singapore has been the solution to the ageing population and to maintain the dynamics of the economy. However, the anti-foreigners sentiments in Singapore has become a challenge for immigrants to integrate into the Singapore society. The research uses Chinese newspaper articles as primary source and focus on immigrants between 2011 and 2015. This paper serves to find out what are the challenges of immigration integration, motivations of immigrants to come to Singapore and the thoughts on immigration policies. |
