新加坡是一个移民社会。引进新移民对解决新加坡人口老化问题和维持经济活跃性有很大的帮助。可是，近年来新加坡出现排斥新移民的情况，使新移民在融入新加坡社会面对困难。本论文主要研究新移民融合的困境。通过 2011 年至 2015 年的华文报章作为第一手材料，把新移民作为关注的对象。研究新移民在新加坡面临什么样的困境，新移民选择移民到新加坡的原因以及国人和新移民针对新加坡移民政策有什么样的看法。Singapore is an immigrant society. Attracting immigrants into Singapore has been the solution to the ageing population and to maintain the dynamics of the economy. However, the anti-foreigners sentiments in Singapore has become a challenge for immigrants to integrate into the Singapore society. The research uses Chinese newspaper articles as primary source and focus on immigrants between 2011 and 2015. This paper serves to find out what are the challenges of immigration integration, motivations of immigrants to come to Singapore and the thoughts on immigration policies.
