Summary: | Power electronic circuits have been around for the past 100 years and it still widely used in the residential, commercial, and industrial area. Many electronic applications require the technology of power electronics to conversion and control of electrical power with high-efficiency electronics devices. This report was to show case how a positive linear regulated dc supply was designed and built. First, the main supply has an amplitude of 230V, 50Hz sine wave which will be stepped down by a transformer to a range that is around the electronic device voltage rating. Next, it will go through a rectifier circuit to filter off the negative portion of the sine wave. Follow by a smoothing stage which smoother the full wave to a ripple waveform. Lastly, a regulator will be stepping down the dc voltage to the suitable range to supply the electronic devices. |
