Many electronic applications require the technology of power electronics to conversion and control of electrical power with high-efficiency electronics devices. This report was to show case how a positive linear regulated dc supply was designed and built. First, the main supply has an amplitude of 230V, 50Hz sine wave which will be stepped down by a transformer to a range that is around the electronic device voltage rating. Next, it will go through a rectifier circuit to filter off the negative portion of the sine wave. Follow by a smoothing stage which smoother the full wave to a ripple waveform. Lastly, a regulator will be stepping down the dc voltage to the suitable range to supply the electronic devices.
