Description
Summary:The Final Year Project, “Never Left”, is a narrative short film that explores the notions of the Alzheimer’s disease and love. The story revolves around an Alzheimer’s patient, Ah Hock and his relationship with son, Mark. Mark has recently shifted home from abroad owing to marital complications with wife, May. Over time, we witness how the development of their relationship encourages Mark to learn deeper about love and its sacrifices through Ah Hock’s devotion to his late wife, Yoke. As Director of Photography for the above project, this report will study the film’s cinematographic developments, discussing in closer detail the conceptualisation, research, execution and reflections for the project. The paper will include documentation of practical experiences, progression of thought processes and general exploration of the narrative significance on the overarching visual interpretation.
