Noise-like pulses evolution in a passively erbium-doped mode-locked fibre laser

Summary: | In mode-locked doped fibre lasers, soliton formation caused by balanced interactions between nonlinear effects and dispersions in fibres has recently been investigated extensively. However, under certain special case, the formed soliton will collapse and therefore forms the “noise-like” pulse as a consequence. Focusing on investigating the noise-like pulse generation in mode lock fibre lasers, the author explored the generation procedure of the noise-like pulse from the mode locked fibre laser in this project. Besides, the numerical modelling of the designed fibre laser was also carried out to mathematically validate the theoretical inference regarding the noise-like pulse generation. |
