Specifically, the renowned Russian painter and pioneer in modern abstract art movement (during early 19th century) - Wassily Kandinsky’s painting Composition VIII (1923) is selected as the theme. The concept of the game is to let the player to discover and create the imaginary 3D version of the original painting in the game world by solving puzzles. Several special-designed features are developed and implemented to allow the player to experience the painter’s drawing process of and emotional expressions within the painting. The project team went through each step of the game development stages throughout the process. In this paper, the concept building process of the game is presented. The game flow is described with details. And the implementation of several important features in the game-play is explained.
