The goal of this project is to design and build a prototype wall climbing robot (Flying mouse), for using as an entry for Singapore Robot games.
A good robot design can increase the inherent ability of the robot to climb complex terrain. It may also lead to better performance and make other issues easier, such as motion planning and control. A three wheeled structure was chosen after consideration of the robot's capability and complexity.
The project consists of a research phase in which similar systems have been investigated to help determine a sensible design approach and to establish appropriate design specifications; a design phase in which a prototype was designed to meet the aforementioned specifications; and a construction phase, in which the prototype was built and tested.
This document contains:
-An overview of prior art related to the development of a new type wall clamping robot for clamping vertical wall and top wall.
-A list of specifications and requirements for a prototype of such a rotor, as well as a list of specifications and requirements for a marketable version of the finished product
- A summary of the development of two separate designs, three wheel platform design and rotor balance design as well as the principles of operation behind each design
-A detailed description of the built prototype and an explanation of the selection process for the components used in the product
- A report on the performance of the prototype
-Suggestions for future work to develop the product past the prototype phase. |
