I will begin by illuminating the role of women in Indian society and exploring the tension between the reality and the expectations of Tamil women in Tamil culture. Additionally, this paper will argue that Tamil love failure songs, also known as soup songs, perpetuate violence towards women by normalising sexual assault and violence upon women. |
