Description
Summary:Accurate flow rate measurement is of prime importance in many areas such as combustion control, gas or water flowmetering and plant monitoring. The target fluidic flowmeter is a new type of flowmeter which is still being researched into. It has a large turn-down ratio, good linearity and can detect very low flow rates. A target flowmeter for water measurements was designed and fabricated. The geometry of the flowmeter could be varied so that the study of each geometrical parameter on the flowmeter performance could be carried out independently. A constant temperature anemometer DANTEC 56C was used in conjunction with the fibre-film probe. The signal from the fibre-film sensor was sent to an HP35670A Dynamical Signal Analyzer to determine the oscillation frequency. The flow rate was obtained accurately by weighing the water collected in a tank.
