Description
Summary:The usage of Electroencephalography (EEG) has been diversifying into more commercial forms, and many companies have tried to bring EEG to consumers’ hands in the form of a head gear. A handful of applications have also been created to complement these head gear. These applications range from education purposes to gaming purposes. Thus, the purpose of this project is to develop an application that implements the usage of the Emotiv Insight headset, which is a 5-channel EEG reader. The application created is a game where the player is a spaceship, trying to avoid asteroids in the endless runner genre. Although there was difficulty in using the headset to learn complex commands, it definitely shows promise in all sorts of commercial applications as the headset is already able to show a measure of control with the player object in the game. In the future, as such EEG head wear become more accessible and easier to control, the game will definitely benefit from having connection with social platforms, as well as to implement various configurations of difficulty for the more experienced users.
