Description
Summary:With the rise of information technologies and popularisation of mobile devices in the past a few decades, transformations are taking place in web development practices, especially when it comes to front-end implementation for data-rich systems. This project aims to build a responsive web interface “Photonics @ SG” for a global photonics conference where different groups of users can access information and interact with back-end database across various devices and platforms. This project has mainly adopted the Responsive Web Design principles while taking good user experience design guidelines into consideration. Furthermore, performance and usability concerns are prioritised due to the practical project nature. This report will walk through the entire lifecycle of the project: requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing and deployment. Important deliverables from each phase are presented. While the implemented features and functions are emphasised and elaborated in details, background information, technologies and tools applied are also introduced to provide better context. As a result, the project has been launched in real life and has helped to organise the conference more efficiently and effectively.
