Summary:Requiem is a VFX short film set in the dystopic future where criminals fight for their freedom against a robot as entertainment for the public. The film aims to depict the resilience of human wit, overcoming seemingly unbeatable odds. It is also a depiction of moral degradation in large groups of people, seen by the public watching these matches and drawing entertainment from it. The technical aspect of Requiem comprises of many different VFX techniques, more notably the use of motion capture technology and green screen filming. It is a project meant to draw upon the skills that the team has learnt in the past 4 years as well as challenging them to attempt something that has not been tried before by incorporating these elements. This Report documents the entire process of the Requiem, from conception to the final product. It will focus on the creative development of the project as well as the technical challenges face and the solutions that were found.
