Description
Summary:In recent years, there has been considerable attention given to tiger parenting. Tiger parenting is a new term coined by Amy Chua, a Yale law professor in Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, to describe Asian parents whom are strict and urges their offspring to attain scholastic success. However, concerns were raised about their children’s socio-emotional health. Much research has focused on the controversy of tiger parenting and sparked a comparison between the dominantly Asian parenting style and the less strict/more lenient Western styles of parenting. This paper would then aim to discover how these children respond to this particular parenting style through the psychological, physical and cognitive effects.
