The author analyzed the banned songs, combined with the collected official information, news reports and field interviews, summed up the three kinds of censorship of local banned songs, namely the official review, self-censorship and anti-censorship. Through studying the local banned songs situation, we can speculate and analyze the principles and orientations that a political institution of a country adopts in a certain period of time and the scope and intensity of its control. The author classified the banned songs into four groups. They are ideologically patriotic songs, porn songs, songs touching sensitive topics, and dialect songs. These songs were banned for various reasons, including anti-dispersion, fears of communism, and taboos on political institutions. Political institutions use their own set of value, assuming that these songs, if not banned, will destabilize the community, which will also pose a threat to the regime. In fact, in my opinion, some songs should not be banned. Today, with the everchanging technology, the popularity of the Internet, the censorship of songs has largely been in existence.
