The purposes of this paper are to examine the food security situations in China under various scenarios complying with WTO framework and suggest possible policy options for food security in China. A demand and supply model was used to compute the welfare effects of various policy options. Theories in international economics, such as comparative advantage, were also applied to illustrate the future prospects of food security in China.
