Description
Summary:Ya’ Aburnee is a film about a man who hopes to find a perfect spot to bury his dead wife. With a treehouse on top of the mountain as his final destination, he sets out in determination to fulfill this hope. However, he loses her body halfway through the journey and realized that death is inevitable. The only thing that matters is the memories they had. He found his resolution at the end when he sits with his wife’s spirit and sends her away willingly, accepting her death. In this research paper, I will be exploring the topics of death and mourning in the Arabic culture, how ‘Ya Aburnee’ as a story came about and the challenges of dealing with death as a topic in film. This paper also covers the challenges and process of how my partner and I developed our film.
